Last fall I purchased a Ford 1620, used it for a few hours hauling wood and then put it away for the winter. I'm getting ready to break it out for some work this spring, mostly tilling and brush mowing (attachments soon to be purchased) but was thinking I should change the engine oil and hydraulic fluid. The tractor currently has 570 hours. I know how to operate these things but I must say I lack some knowledge on the mechanical side of tractors so i'm going to ask my probably dumb questions here and hopefully someone will be willing point me in the right direction.

For the engine oil I'm going with 15W-40 I think, can I just use any diesel motor oil or does it need to be new holland brand?

For the hydraulic fluid the manual shows Ford 134. My local Fleet Farm carries Rotella HD Tractor Transmission and Hydraulic Fluid, Farm Rated Trans-Hydraulic Fluid (In either Universal, AW32, AW46, AW68, AW100), and Mobil Mobilfluid 424 High Performance Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission Fluid. Would any of those options work as a substitute to what the manual calls out?

Hi

Rotella T6 5w-40 synthetic engine with New Holland OEM filters and Kubota SUDT-2 in the tranny will make a world of difference.

For my NH 1920 fluid changes, I use Rotella T5 synthetic blend and Super Tech Tractor Hydraulic Oil, both purchased at Walmart. Initially tried the engine oil change myself but quickly discovered I could not remove the old oil filter because the clearances were not sufficient for my tools and the old filter gasket was stuck tight. Took it to my 'tractor guy' and he changed all the fluids and oil filter (he had to destroy the old filter but he got it off). Also, he helped me change the fuel filter using the 2-man method. He removed the old fuel filter and held the new one in place (without tightening the glass bowl) while I cranked the engine at full throttle to flood (overflow) the filter bowl with fuel. He then tightened the filter bowl and I kept the engine running at full throttle (ran very rough) until the air was purged from the fuel system. Hasn't missed a lick since.
