ford 1620 pricing?

hi there, i have the opportunity to get a ford 1620 hydro static tractor with a 7108 loader on it, has farm tires on it, not turn: for the price of 2500. but there is an issue with it.. it was being used to scoop up some dirt and then BAM, the tractor would not go in reverse or go forward. the engine runs fine, the loader and the 3 point hitch still work. is it worth buying at that price and does anyone have any ideas what is wrong? --thanks jake

I am going out on a limb here, but, I've seen quite a few older hst tractors with the splines worn out of the clutch disc center. it's from all of the constant forward/reverse motion. good luck!

so it would need a new clutch/clutch disk if that is the issue?
