I recently picked up a Ford 1700 which had been sitting. New fluids and a hot battery fired it right up. The older gentleman I bought it from told me they hydraulic lift worked fine until his son changed a rear axle which was bent then they never worked again. Just out of curiosity where should I start to diagnose the problem? The lift cylinder itself or the axle? No strange noises from the pump and seems to be getting fluid just not sure what part of the axle may have killed the lift. Thanks.
