Ford 1700 4wd manual steering, 770 front end loader

Does anyone know of any places that sells a steering gearbox rebuild kit and / or sells an already rebuilt gearbox? Also looking for left side shifter. Mine is worn where it goes onto the slides inside the transmission and sticks in gear occasionally.
I haven't had this tractor very long. Appears it might be tough to find some parts when they wear out.

I'd look at the exploded parts diagram. Is that a single sector shaft box right? Pretty simple designs. If you are lucky it has a couple thrust bearings, a needle bearing or bushing near the top steering shaft, and bushings and seals for the sector shaft plus an oring for the sector cover . Not worked on that box specifically, but have done a few like it, including a Kubota Japanese sub compact, etc.

I actually found one. I bought the steering wheel, steering column, and gearbox brand new (never been installed on a tractor). After buying the assembly and doing some research, I think it's actually a assembly that fits a kubota tractor but it works ok for my Ford 1700.

The sector shaft had been broken. From the research I have done this is a common problem with these gearboxes and the shaft is pretty expensive. I am hoping this kubota gearbox is a better design and will last longer.

Sector and worn style boxes are all pretty much variations on a theme, I wouldn't expect much different in that box than any other

I suppose I should be content with finding a gearbox that will work. Parts for my ford 1700 are becoming crazy expensive, but even worse than that, they are becoming obsolete and completely unavailable.

A lot of the Japanese components are similar if you can just figure it out. No cross references to look up.
