Has anyone looked-for/found a "close enough" replacement radiator for a Ford 1700?
I see them on e-bay, but don't really want to pay $475+ for one (last radiator I bought was for a Pontiac Bonneville and was only $125).
I threw some stop-leak in it last year and it held through the Winter and Spring. Went to use it yesterday and it took 3 quarts to top it off (glad I checked it before firing it up).

Guess I should call around to see what the going rate is for re-core work too. Used to be the economical way to do, image it is through the roof now?

Thanks

$475, ouch. I would definitely determine where the leak is and if it is the radiator, I would get a re-core price. I haven't had a radiator re-cored since 10 years ago but if memory is correct, it wasn't much over $100.

My radiator guy had a custom core made and installed a few years ago for about $300.

Recore may be your best bet.

I know I had the water pump rebuilt on mine about almost 10 years ago and it is doing fine.
