I just purchased an old used Curtis universal cab with side curtains. I am trying to see if anyone has ever installed one of these before and maybe give me some tips?
We installed a Curtis cab on a Kubota L4310 about 2005. It was kinda like an erector set. Assemble but don't tighten until all bolts are in place. Even then, don't tighten until the you try the door fit. Frame can rack back-n-forth to fit doors.
Curtis supplied nylon washer/ nuts since the tractor vibration will loosen even lock-washers.
Must have 1 helper; 2 are better.
I had dealer install the heater loop - i.e. just needed to cut & connect hose to cab heater. The Curtis wiper can be extended, so give it a try.
Although in winter (like now @ 5 deg. w/ wind) I'd like a comfy factory cab, we drive thru the woods with branches thracking (sp?) the steel frame, whereas I'd be verrry concerned about a factory fiberglass cab.
