I have a ford 1710 diesel 2WD and it started losing power as the tractor started getting up to operating temp. I did the fuel filter and fresh fuel with no help. I drained fuel ,removed tank valve and it was fine. Replaced fuel hoses & clamps. I have a good flow all the way to pump. Now it wont even start. When I crack line at injectors when turning motor over they don't spit at all. Is this pump something I can rebuild or should I send it out? I have rebuilt 100's of carbs and everything else on a auto. Where would I get rebuild kit?

What type of pump do you have? Some pumps are really simple but have machined parts that a grain of dust would ruin.

Does the rack move freely? Does your pump have a steel mesh insert at the low pressure side? Looking around the kit is easily found and so are rebuild guides, when I rebuilt my Minimec I didn't have anything.:confused: Good luck

The rack moves very freely and they are all turning. Nothing appears to be broken.(I took the side cover off the pump). Their was no mesh inside the inlet fitting.

I found this link Kiki Inline Injection Pump - SmokStak From what I understand Diesel Kiki became Zexel which was bought by Bosch, parts are not hard to find. But you may just need a good clean up. Bad diesel, algae, and water will mess up these pumps. The pumps kind of work like 2 stroke engines, the piston follows the cam( the part that you time to the camshaft of the engine) as the piston that rides the cam approaches the top it compresses the diesel, when the diesel reaches a high enough pressure the delivery valve opens, as the piston drops down a helical groove in the piston aligns with the inlet chamber and fills up the "combustion chamber" of the pump with diesel. Sometimes something microscopic jams something and look at that nothing is working.
