i think i have the number right, 1984 model, 4wd, fel, 1800 hours: went for about $6000 at an auction this morning. probably a good buy but more than i want to pay for one with that many hours on it.

With fel and live PTO, if it were mechanically sound would have been a good deal. I would not worry about the hrs If the proof meter is actual and the tractor been taken care off.

you never know the answer to those questions at an auction: meter could have been changed, an who knows about how it was serviced: i'd rather pay more for something newer an with a whole lot less hours.

All I got to say is if she breaks a short time later someone is going to be real sad. How can it be a " DEAL " if your the last one standing there with your hand in the air ? I would say no matter what brand... age is against you and failure is inevitible. If you can't demo it for a day forget it. How do you know if it has the power it should have or the hydraulics go south after it is warmed up ? Good equipment sells word of mouth..... too much troublesome pieces end up at auction. Don't forget the 30 second warranty... providing the check clears. Good luck to bidder # 31

in this case the folks were selling out to move to Florida: they moved to Arkansas a couple years ago, an i think this last winter convinced them they stopped to soon: so they are headed further south: meaning the tractor wasn't being sold just because it had a problem: but in my opinion, when its that old an has that many hours on it, it needs to be a bargain.

Having prepped a bunch of equipment for my employer to go to auction last year, don't buy at an auction. The only requirement is for the machine to start, go back and forth, and up and down. Trust me, I can and did hide a lot of problems, and still met those requirements.
