FORD 1720
Worked fine until I replaced the hydraulic filter. Fluid level are good, no leaks or whinning noise. Fluid gets warm after running for a little while. The suction line gets warm,so I believe the fluid is flowing, but its failing to build pressure. I pulled the flow control and there is fluid to the valve. The cylinder and pistons seals were replaced,as were the seals on the hyd.manifold. i do have 1250 to 1350 psi at the diverter valve. All components in the hydraulic system have been pulled apart and seals on lines and components have been replaced. The only thing I did not pull or take apart is the hydraulic pump itself. My understanding there has to be a cutoff or pressure relief valve so the system can buildup pressure, or else the fluid just free flows. I have the FO-46 shop manual and believe I have filled it 100%. The hydraulic components have been pulled and taken apart numerous times using the repair manual to recheck things, but all seems to be correct. I seriously doubt the pump is bad as its quiet and moves fluid. Any ideas or suggestions on fixing this Ford1720. Its useless without the 3pt.

Did you bleed the air?

Is there any other hydraulic function this pump provides oil to? If yes does that function operate? Since replacing filter initiated this problem I would confirm getting oil flow by opening a fitting on the pressure side of the pump and then crank the engine to see if you get oil out of that fitting. If you have engine shut off I would leave that so tractor will not start and just turn it over with the starter for 15 - 20 seconds. If pump was not priming that should allow any air lock to escape.

The system does not require bleeding on this model tractor. I am getting flow. All hydrauic lines and components get warm after the tractor runs for awhile, so that's telling me fluid is circulating, It's just not building pressure when the 3pt is engaged. Which leads me to believe there is an internal leak in one of the components, but they all seem to check out fine. I am definately overlooking something.. lol

I reread your first post where you state seeing pressure around 1,300 PSI at the diverter. What does this diverter do on your tractor?
What were you operating at the time of seeing this pressure?
Does the pressure fluctuate or change when moving the 3 point control? I.e. lowering does it drop close to 200 PSI?

Answers to these questions might help point towards root cause of failure.

Does yours have the draft control option? -that increases lever and system complexity considerably

There's a pin/bolt in the pivoting rod attached to the 3 point hand lever parts 13 (pin) and 11 (lever) in the picture in diagram 05D04 with no draft control:

That pin sheared before I owned mine then again later after I owned it. A sheared pin here allows movement of the lever without actuating the valve.
Might want to check that on yours
