A friend is doing some engine work on his 1900....the service manual says that the cyl head bolt should be torqued to "43 lbs"....this can't be...as it was probably 120 ft/lbs to get it off....anyone have any idea what the torque values are for this engine's cyl head?? (PS: I've done pretty extensive searches and found others have run into the same thing, but no one has come up with an answer...any help is appreciated!) BobG in VA

i realize this is an old thread, but i followed my manual as well only to discover that after replacing my head gasket, all my head nuts were loose.

wondering what i really should have tightened them to rather than the 43 ft lbs
