1986 ford 1910
I bought an old 1986 Ford 1910 last fall. Hydraulics were working. It sat outside all winter-covered when the wind didn't blow it off. It got water in the reservoir. I drained it a little and put on a new filter. The fluid is all creamy-I even tried putting the old filter back on. The lift still will not work. Transmission and pto do. I suspect I will have to completely drain and put a new filter on. Any way tp bleed or prime the system? The filter is a spin on vertical screwing downward-so there's no way to fill it. Any suggestions? Thanks, Dan.

Working on mine today same problem, its not the filter, had this problem for years, sometimes a complete fluid change and new filter will get it going again, the system is self bleeding, open system, just lube the gasket and screw the new filter on. Mine would only works with New Holland oil, very costly, also two drain plugs on bottom of tractor, get both, or you want get all the water. Pulled my lift cyl. today and my seal was bad ($28) but thats not my only problem, as I am not getting fluid to the Cylinder, fluid leaving pump, as my front bucket works fine, but no fluid at the rear cylinder. Maybe when I find the problem this time I can get it off that high dollar hyd. oil, (7.5 gals.). Good luck, the 1910's are great tractors, but 27 years sitting out in the weather, well not good, and there is alot of good information here, for the asking.
