Ford 1920 4WD
I have a Ford 1920 4x4 diesel tractor. I believe it is a 1996 but I'm not certain. My clutch has seized up after sitting for some time. I plan on splitting the tractor to hopefully rebuild the clutch ( if necessary replace it ). I've been told that the they used different clutches on the tractors. I wanted to purchase the parts prior to slitting the tractor to expedite the repair. Does anyone know how I can determine the correct part on the tractor?

I had a 2110 and 1900 and in my sphere of knowledge while owning them I do believe there were different clutches. You could easily buy the wrong parts. It's just my opinion but I would wait until it's apart because of that plus it might be cheaper and easier to rebuild what you have. Be sure to resurface the flywheel.

Thanks for the input Sixdogs. I will probably wait til I split it to buy the parts. I was hoping to have them on hand but suspected I would have the wrong parts.

When you say seized up do you mean it won't release? If it is just rusted together you may be able to break it free by driving ---Trevor

I actually might have a parts and/or service manual for a 1910. That was supposed to be my next tractor purchase but I couldn't find one.

tjcarguy is right. you can often free them up by driving. The 1910 and that whole series is a metallic clutch and you are supposed to put a spacer block to keep the clutch pedal held down over periods of storage so the clutch and plate don't stick together.

Serial number plate and stamping in case are located under LH floorboard. Unit # will be similar to 6F13B where the 6 stands for 1996, letter is the month, next 2 digits the day.
1920's had a double clutch live PTO system whether 12x4 standard or 12x12 SSS synchro shuttle transmission.
