Ford 1920 year 1994 Shuttle Shift

Good morning from Richfield Ohio! Have a Ford 1920 and experiencing trouble shifting from forward to reverse for a while. This week shuttle has locked into reverse and can’t shift out of reverse. Normally I can rock tractor back and forth with bucket and it frees up the shuttle to shift, but not this time. Clutch works for pto and shifting gears 1 thru 4. Any one else deal with this issue?

I have a 1920 also, but thankfully it is working normally.
I will be watching your thread to learn what I should do if I were to have the same problem.

Thanks. Have not found any shops nearby to take it in to look at it yet. Most are backed up for a couple weeks. The only thing I have learned so far is not to procrastinate when it starts being difficult shifting into F and R. Always happens at worst time. I handle round bales with it, and I think I may be overworking it. Other than this issue it has been very reliable.

Can you get it into neutral with it rolling in reverse?
Some times a clutch can just barely be dragging and give trouble on just one shift.
Are you in 4wd if so can you get it into 2wd and try then.

Thanks. I have tried to move it to neutral while backing up and also with stopping quick to no avail. Tried it in and out of 4 wheel drive, rocking it back and forth with loader. I do hear it grinding if I try to push the lever forward without pressing down the clutch, and it’s quiet when I try to move to neutral or forward with clutch pressed down. I can engage PTO, and gears 1 thru 4 like normal. Do you think I am dealing with a stuck clutch, or something internal with the shuttle mechanism? The linkage appears to be free. Also, never realized there is a lock to hold down the clutch when Tractor is not in use that I have never used. Nervous about putting too much pressure on the shifter and causing any more damage.

This is just throwing a guess out as what you tried should have unloaded the transmission so it would shift,
is there an interlock for the shuttle shifter with the clutch linkage.

Not sure. Would that be integral to the linkage external to transmission near steering column, or internal to transmission and access only by removing cover of transmission?

Don't know it would be nice if it was external,
if you go to the New Holland web site and find the parts books you should be able to find the complete parts diagrams for your tractor,
