Ford Model 1920
Hello all and thank you for your help ahead of time. Hubby got hold of this he believes is a 1995 Ford 1920. Can someone tell me what the fuses go to (so I can "act like I know" what I am talking about). I think there are 3 of them in the box? Also when he got it... the key wouldnt start it, so I pulled him on it and we got it started. Then he tried the key immediately after and it worked. He then found some ground wires under it that were sparking so he fixed them. Now the key will not start it again, so I pulled him and it starts in about 5' of being pulled, he had it setting there running and the key just fell out. Is the starter bad? I think someone has tried to start it with anything they could get into the key hole at one time as it sat on a parking lot for quite awhile. He has no manual or nothing to go by except what I read on this very helpful board.

Any help will be appreciated, and I will tell you you all helped me out:thumbsup:

Thank you again!

The best advice I can give you is to get a operators manual and a service manual. You can find them on ebay. It sound like the tractor needs some TLC. Once you have the manuals you can fix every thing as it should be. The 1920 is a great tractor and is worth spending some money on to fix things right. With out seeing the tractor all we can do is guess at problems. I am guessing your starting problem has somthing to do with the glow plugs if it will crank over but not fire.

Thank you... it does run once we get it started, and it runs great... it will sit and idle very well.... but when you are driving it a round after about 10 minutes it will just die, like you turned the key off

How do you tell if the Glo plug is bad? is there only one ? Also is 2800 hours high hours for a a 95 model??

There are 4 glow plugs. once it is started the glow plugs have no affect. They are just for starting. Your fuel filter probably needs to be changed. 2800 hrs is probably on the low side for that year tractor if the meter is working. You see 1920's for sale with over 4500 hrs.
