Hi All, I lost a freeze plug during the winter and need to replace it.

PROBLEM is: It's behind the Injector Pump.

A guy I know is an x heavy equip mechanic and he said I'd better be careful because of the timing; that he thought there was a rod running from the Pump into the engine which controls the timing.

Has anyone had to do this operation? Does anyone know if the injector pump is timed in this manner?

Thanks for any information. I don't mind R&Ring the Pump, but need to know how to make sure I don't mess up the timing.

Best thing is to secure the proper manual for that engine

Not an expert but all injector pumps are timed

you should be able to pull pump off and put right back just make sure you don't turn the motor or pump
