Yanmar sc2400 TLD, 1989 Ford 2120 with loader
May be looking into purchasing a 2120.

I have limited information at the moment.
The machine is at my in-laws.
I used it once a few years ago and seemed to run good.
The tractor is a couple hundred miles from me, so it will be a while before I can look at it.
What I know is it was originally a rental tractor, but has been owned by my late FIL for a long time, and AFAIK has been a good machine.
It's a bit rough and has lived outside. It's a mid to late '80's model with a clutch. Hours unknown at the moment, but I would be shocked it wasn't at least 1500, likely more.

Anything to look for?
Are parts available? I know they were and still are popular.
Is replacing the clutch a big deal? AFAIK it's fine, but looking down the road.
Any idea with this limited info what it may be worth. I want to give a fair price?

Thanks for any advice.

They are a great tractor....parts may be an issue down the road, they've already stopped producing some parts for it.

Check the shift linkage for excessive wear. Other than that we have had no issues with ours. In 2011 paid 11,500 with 500 hours and a loader. Don't know what they are going for these days

I have an 1989 2120, 4 wd, 12 x 12 shuttle shift, and front end loader. I have owned it 23 yrs. had about 800 hrs. on it when I got it, now have 1300 plus hrs. on it. I have used it to plow and blow snow when I lived in western NY, now live in E. Tn. It has been used to brush hog, till, and move dirt in both places. It starts and runs as good as the day I got it, but I have always taken good care of it with the regular required maintenance. All that I have had to do to it thus far is replace the battery once, replace two front tires, (rears are still original) and replace two front axle seals. Oil and filters changed as required per the factory manual. It has been a very good machine.

Mine is a 93' 1600 hrs, 7019 loader. Makes me smile every time I start it. It's louder than the newer machines but works hard and never complains. Regular maint seems to be all it needs. Only had mine ten yrs.

Thanks for the replies. For some reason I did not receive any e-mail responses.
Turns out the tractor has 2300 hours, about what I expected. I'm going to try and get it for 6K.
If parts are not being produced anymore that's a concern for me.

Quite a few parts are still available from New Holland dealers, larger parts such as castings are not, but may be found at tractor salvage yards. Messicks located in Pa. is a good source for new parts and information. The nice thing about their web site is that they have the parts drawings with the part numbers and prices, you can call them or any NH dealer with the part No. to find out it it is still available. If the part is no longer available from the dealer that number makes it a lot easier to search for the part. Good luck.

Looks like a done deal for 6K, I feel that's a fair price.
Think it will be a good machine.

Now I need to find a trailer to rent.

A good source for used parts is Long Lane Tractor in Elizabethtown, Pa. They have a good supply of Ford salvaged parts if you should need something.

That's a great deal if it had a loader especially. ..6k won't buy you much here especially in a 20 series
