Hey Y'all, I am chasing the gremlins of a tractor that was sitting for a year. Clutch will not disengage. Any ideas as to a possible fix to get it to break free. I cant see any access panels and really dont want to split/replace it if I dont have to. Thanks for any help!!

A few things that may work,
1) block or lock the clutch pedal down to the released position
2) possibly driving it while using the brakes hard with the clutch depressed
3) some times pushing against an immovable object again with the clutch depressed
4) some people have been known to spray a penetrating oil into the bell housing trying to get it to soak in between the clutch disc and fly wheel

this all assumes that the clutch disc has become stuck to the pressure plate or flywheel,
at times the throwout bearing will seize to the input shaft.

When you eventually do get the clutch unstuck (whatever method), ALWAYS block the clutch, when planning to leave the tractor parked for more than a week.

I would do as already suggested and try driving it around for a while with the clutch pushed down till it gets warm then try stomping hard on the brakes.
Not easy to spray anything in there and I would NOT spray penetrating oil in there.

Thanks for all the input. I tried what was suggested. Still hasnt broken free. It still feels like there is pedal there so I dont think the bearing is frozen. Unfortunately Ford in their infinite wisdom did not design a tractor with an inspection cover so I may have to bite the bullet and break it in half. Not what I was looking to do.

Don't jump on the split option too quickly.
There are other methods to try first.

Years ago I got a Ford 8N ready for paint. Pressure washed it ,sanded, painted. After all done for whatever reason the clutch was froze fast. Did all the mentioned above and still ended splitting it. Sucked to pull a newly paint tractor apart. At least it was clean...!

No doubt!! It is becoming an extinct theory, being replaced by "cranial rectosis"

Well, still no luck. Ran it moving snow, very carefully with clutch pedal pressed dow the whole time. Still didnt free up. I was able to borrow a scope. Going to try to go up through the clutch lever hole and see what I can see. At least figure out if the bearong is frozen to the shaft or the disc to the fly wheel.

Fords design genius' made it impossible to see the clutch without breaking it in half, which will probably be the next step. I need to be able to use it. Thanks again for all of the suggestions.
