I am looking at a ford 2910 (1991 year model) tractor with a bushhog 2345 fel on it. It has 996 hours on the meter. It is in very good cosmetic condition. It has a little rust on the fender. The main problem is it has a power steering column leak. It leaks around the steering wheel. It needs 1 back tire and when I tested the clutch in the high range. It failed the test. Probably needs a clutch soon. It comes with a box blade and a nice bushhog 5ft. He is ashking $10,000 for it. What do you think would be a reasonable offer. Thanks, Russell

996 hours is not much in the tractor world and should not have worn out the tire or the clutch. The power steering leak is not much to fix but also check the wear on the pedals, if they show too much then the hours may be much higher. 10K is way too much. Half that would get me interested. I can tell you a steering column will run you $800-900. I'm replacing one in my 3600 and hope it'll last me 30 or more years. Word of advice, when or if you do buy the tractor and have the steering column fixed go ahead and replace both front bearings, it's likely they're worn or getting close to it.
