I have a Ford 3400 taht has quit running, used it half a day yesterday, cranked it this morning and it ran about 10 seconds and it quit, will not start back up, I changed the fuel filter day before yesterday but have ran it about 4 hrs since then, I opened the fuel line going into the injector and i have fuel at that point, is there anyway to checck the injector to see if it is pumping fuel, any help appreciated,

could crack lines at the injector and see if fuel bubbles out.

Is the fuel return line & fitting that it attaches to on inj pump open(unclogged) so excess fuel can return to tank?

I'd start back at the tank and make sure that you have adequate fuel delivery to the fuel filter. Just remove the line at the filter, hold a suitable container under the end of it and turn on the tank valve. There should be a continuous gush of fuel through the line. If there isn't then the strainer in the tank is clogged or the vent in the cap is blocked. Open the cap and listen for a hiss as you open it. If you have good fuel flow to that point, reconnect the line, bleed the filter with the bleeder screw on top, bleed the pump if it has a bleeder screw, and then bleed the injectors. Make sure the connections in the system are tight so you don't suck in any air. Make sure the battery is fully charged before you bleed the injectors. if the fuel delivery system is properly bled and not sucking air, it should start as you bleed the injectors. As Jim says, check the fuel return line for clogging by blowing through it back to the tank. If it still doesn't start, you may have a problem with the pump.

That sound like what my ztr was doing and as Jerry said check the vent on the fuel tank cap.

Went back and checked everything, tightned nut on top of fuel filter very snug, opened the fuel line at the pump til I got steady flow, tried it a couple times and no go, Miss. sun was bout to melt me down (how come things never mess up under a shade tree), anyway tries it one more time and it fired right off and has been cranking immediately since, thanks for all the suggestions.

Next time, after you bleed the pump, bleed the injectors! It'll start quicker that way.
