Ford 3610 Advice

Thinking on a 3610 with aprox. 3000 hrs. did the 3.1 L, 3 cyl. engines have the porous bore/cavitation issue? is this something to be concerned about? do not know if there was any engine work or if additive was used in coolant. appears to be in excellent condition, newer tires etc. $8000 grand though, seems high, any input on the the block and price would be appreciated. Also I have a 1992 6610 with the cross hatched block, do I need to add the coolant cavitation additive to the system or just antifreeze/water? Thanks for any input guys!

Great tractor and looks good, but $8K seems a little steep for a 3000 hour tractor, even one that seems to have had a easy life. I bought a 3600 diesel for under 4k with a beat up bush hog and a really beat finishing mower. It required about $1000 in tires and maint not including time in the last 6 years, including a new rear rim. I prefer this era over the Asian make imports from Ford and JD that came after. These were the last of the real tractors in terms of weight, power, parts availability, and durability and true diesel tractor performance. Easily run a 6ft cutter or drag a big log out of the woods. THis one is pretty for sure but at a price. If you really need that type of tractor with R1s and everything working, ready to go, I'd probe at a lower price like $6850 and if no movement, I'd pass and look for a much cheaper one that could be brought to that level with some love. Parts are available, and cheap for these models, and I put my machines to work.
