Must have hit a nerve with my question. I checked and found that I could indeed buy just the gage but the first place I found it had it priced at $113. The parts guy was really helpful and suggested I make sure the float hadn't become detached from the arm or sprung a leak. I pulled the unit yesterday and could hear fluid sloshing around in the float. I jumpered the two wires together and pulled them apart and the gage went from full to empty so the gage is working. I checked the resistance of the unit just out of curiosity and it read around 500 ohms empty and 40 ohms in the full position. I'll get serious about finding one on Monday. Meanwhile I ran over my fuel cap. I had to drain some fuel out of the tank so I could remove the sending unit (mounts horizontally through the front wall of the tank) so I removed the cap so the fuel could flow freely. I forgot about it when I buttoned everything up and it fell off when I started backing up and I ran over it with the front tire. Smashed it to smitherenes. If it isn't one thing it's something else with a tractor. Can't help but love 'em.
