ford 4000 blows gas out of vent by distributor cracked ring??

i just bought a ford 4000 industrail project tractor. on the way home it was storming and the exaust flap was blowing open alot. i waited two days to start it because of a bad coil. got it started today and when reved up it blew black colored gas? out of the vent infront of distributor. it did not when idleing, no oil shows up on dipstick. coolant is fine, no oil or gas in it. (cracked ring??) it is a 1965 4cyl gas engine ( 41300 69790 ) ( 310835 3 15 65)

Have you changed the oil yet? If not then start with some known factors by changing it and oil filter and clean the other two.


It could stuck rings, worn rings.

If it will start and run I would put some hours on it first unless you are just bored and want a project. If it was mine I expect I would move to Mobil 1 10w-40 High Mileage motor oil so it would start cleaning ring grooves etc.

Keep us posted. I would like a project gas Ford tractor too.
