ford 4000 pto shaft

Hi guys this is my first post.
The pto shaft on my 1973 Ford 4000 has been pulled out due to the ceased telescopic shaft on my topper.
The seal has come out, the bearing is still in, the inner snap ring has broken up.
Ive shone a light up to the pack and there seems to be thrust washer that has dropped a bit.
Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks in advance.

How did you get the bearing out? Mine is not coming easily. 73 4000 Ind pto 8 speed. Same thing happened to me inner snap ring broken, shaft pulled out, bearing stayed in.

Also, were you able to find the broken ring with a magnet?

Here is what I had to do when it happened to me. Take a wood tapered dowel or something soft not to damage the thrust washer or clutch pack. put a generous amount of grease and dab it up in the splines.And carefully ease the pto shaft back into place. It also helps to remove the inspection plate on the left side.
