I rebuilt my CAV for my Ford 4500 with a kit and followed some pretty good YouTube videos for instructions. I have cranked the engine and bled lines for what seems like hours and all I can finally get is a dismal fuel squirt at injector lines and a small return flow into tank. There does not seem to be enough pressure to make it through the injectors as the engine doesn't even smoke or fire. I have a good starter and battery and the engine turns over well. I am a bit surprised my starter hasn't given up the ghost yet as I have cranked it over so much thinking I still had an air lock somewhere. I am now thinking air is NOT my problem but that I MUST have done something wrong in the rebuild of the pump. The only thing I remember being "uncomfortable" about is not quite understanding the 2 stage auto advance device that is on the bottom of the pump. I had disassembled the device for inspection and reassembled after thinking it appeared fine.
I am hoping someone with specific knowledge and experience might be able to suggest something. I am at a loss but think I have to go to the the trouble of taking the pump off again and go through from the top again.
Thanks
