I have a 70's model 4500 tlb that was only using around 20% of it's power when I got it. I figured the clutch was going bad but could still get good use out the the backhoe. After changing the Transmission fluid I got a good increase in pushing power for a while but then a major loss. It will now barely climb the hills on my land.
My question is should I now start looking at repairing the cluth and at what expense?
OR
Should try filling with something besides the "combo" "universal" trans/hydro fluid that I put in it and just not use it for pushing and endloading and just live with it? Will another type of fluid make that big of a difference?
It is the 4 speed manual transmission
Thanks - Scott
