Ford 4610 back lift only works at very high rpm

Any idea why back lift only works at very high rpm?
Have changed filters and that had no effect.

You probably need to do a flow and pressure test.

Thanks for reply. Would this require a specialist facility?
Also not sure if it matters but I only recently acquired the tractor from a golf course where the back lift was rearly if ever used.

Hydraulics:
Type: open
Capacity: 12.1 gal [45.8 L]
Valves: 1
Pump flow: 8.5 gpm [32.2 lpm]
Steering cap.: 3.6 qts [3.4 L]

Your hyd system should have a flow of 8.5 GPM.

So check and see if you have the flow advertised.

Install a hyd gage and check pressure, especially relief pressure.

If you can hold the 3pt lever full up, and read about 2500 to 3000 psi, your pump should be OK.

Thanks very much again. I have ordered manual which will take a few days and will look into getting pressure tested. The tractor will tip a trail at just ticking over rpm so presume 3pt is off a different pump.

test them with a 0-3000 psi gauge using a QD to plumb the gauge into a pressure port then deadhead that line and read gauge.
