I just got this Ford 4610 3-cylinder diesel tractor. It has wiring issues from previous owner - they removed the ignition switch. Also have some questions about operating it.

The PTO lever. All the tractors I have operated before have a clutch for the PTO. I'm not sure if this tractor has a separate clutch for the pto?

Here is the PTO lever:

I'm not sure on the wiring, but that is the PTO lever, it should be an independent PTO so it does not rely on the drive clutch position, is nice for brush hogging and other things so you can change direction and leave the mower on...

It is an independent PTO. It turns off and on by moving the lever. The regular clutch doesn't seem to affect the PTO. I just thought you would have a clutch to slowly engage the PTO --- feather it on. So is there no clutch for the PTO?

You do not need to clutch for independent pto's. However engaging at a lower rpm will extend the life of the clutch pack.

Thanks, that's what I needed to know. Don't wanna tear up my machine.
