I am looking at purchasing this tractor, but don't know which 4610 it is. Can someone help identify it? It says SU on the side, but looks like LCG tires.
It's definitely lower than my 3910. Tractor Data says the SU (Special Utility) used the smaller chassis from the 3000 series with the engine from the 4000 series. The smaller rear tires also set it closer to the ground.
Kubota M7040, Kubota MX5100, Deere 790 TLB, Farmall Super C
I recall the SU was a normal looking tractor from a tire size standpoint and I almost bought one when they were new. I may still have the sales brochure and recall nothing like the model shown with the smaller turf tires/wheels. It was a desirable model and my guess is that someone just stuck those tires on to make it a lawnmower for maybe a school or whatever. SU was for "Special Utility" as already stated and I thought that meant a little more of a basic, fewer frills tractor.
I believe it is a SU with low profile turf tires...
I own an 83 4610SU...
The SU has a shorter wheelbase, swept front axle, smaller fuel tank, and different tires than the all purpose...
The AP has the stronger front axle better suited for FEL use...
The drive train for both units are the same...
And yes, it is a very desirable tractor...
Thank you for the responses. I purchased it yesterday for $4750. It has 1900 hours on it. There is a small leak in the PTO seal, which I will fix soon. Everything else seems to work fine.

You did well...
If you are going to mow you may want to leave those low turfs on...
Personally, I would put the 16.9x24 factory tires on it but that is just my personal preference...
My SU has 2900 hours and I gave a similar price...
Mine had no leaks but a bad fuel sending unit that I repaired...
No issues in a little over a year of service other than flatting front tires from brush hogging...
I finally fixed that issue with Gensco air plane tires on the front...
I did add a ROPS and found a set of front weights with brackets from a gentleman that restores vintage Fords...
Also added a set of rear remotes and front head lights...
Need a paint job and the restoration is complete...
Give us a run down once you get it up and working...
Seems EBAY is a good bet, plus you can buy one on line. I might have an original sales brochure for one but I can't look for it right now. That's a great and trouble free tractor that you bought. Keep the center axle pivot greased and adjusted.
I have seen those with bigger tires and wheels on them--- 28" for sure and possibly 30" wheels.
EDIT--I just looked and you could order with 30" or even 38" rears to increase crop clearance.
The rear tires have some cuts in them. I plan to mostly brush hog with it for now, so I'll see what I can get out of these tires. Once they go, I plan to replace them with 16.9x24's.
