I have a 70 model 5000. It has a Simms inline pump in it. It misfires when it's cold and only when it's cold soon as it warms up its perfect. What could the problem be? It has a brand new motor 4 pistons and rods every bearing cam pushrods all is new. When it first cranks you get the normal whitish grey smoke once tuning it blue smokes a little till warm doesn't seem to be oil. All the injectors change motor noise when cracked. The tractor pulls 8ft harrows in second gear easily and bush hogs thick thick grass with ease as we'll not low on power is low on coming to power not very snabby a little sluggish you could say. Timing is advanced 2 degrees to 21. Could it not be advanced enough making it misfire? Could it have air in the lines? Valves not set right bent pushrod what? Has new lift pump on injection pump as well as filter housing I put a double on it.

Brand new motor but injectors and injection pump unserviced? Pull the injectors, get them tested and if they are OK, send the pump out and have it gone through.

They were tested soon as I pulled the pump and injectors for rebuild

It must be getting air in the system because when I first crank it in the morning I get no smoke until 2nd turnover of the motor

Yeah I forgot to put that in there haha hmm if it was delivery wouldn't it be all the time not just for the first couple minutes when it's cold

Fuel delivery to the cylinders would include a faulty injector that works when warmed up. Not uncommon, or the only possibility.

Yeah that's true I'll loosen the lines when it's cold and see which one stops the misfire I've got a few out of a 4000 there the same I think and I know 100 percent their good cause I had the redone for some extras
