I've been a member for a while and feel terrible that the only input I provide is when I have a question, and in this case.... I'm completely stumped.

A little background. Over the past 4 years I have completely rebuilt my fathers old Ford 5000 (5200 row crop) from the ground up. One of the issues we previously had with this tractor was the hydraulics, or lack there of. With the factory single spool I was always limited on implement control. I knew when I decided to rebuild that I was going to up my available hydraulics so I could run somewhat modern implements. I purchased a PB plate from Tisco and soon saw that it wasn't designed to go on the platform tractors. After some head scratching I was determined to make it work. The issue being that there wasn't enough clearance for it to fit. I did some cutting, grinding, and welding and ended up making it fit. On the rowcrop version of these tractors, the hydraulics are different from the utility version. The remotes were relocated to the rear (under the seat) via a block made out of unobtainium. It leaked so I painfully replaced the steel lines with welded on fittings and hoses. I then added a power beyond block on top of the block sandwiched between the factory spool valve. I've added a few pictures to hopefully explain better.

The problem I'm having now is, and I know this is strange, I can't get the 3 point hitch to raise unless I open a spool on the loader valve.... I have everything plumbed correctly. I'm certain that the factory flow route is spool, then 3ph. The 3ph should be the last to receive flow. So what is my problem here....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hard to tell without better pictures or a diagram/blueprint of how you got everything plumbed.

If the 3PH only works when you operate the loader joystick, it sounds like you have the 3PH plumbed to the tank line of the loader valve and not the PB.

How was the previous setup? was there anything coming off the power beyond of the loader before? Or is this the first applicating coming off the loader PB. Some valves require a plug to be added to separate tank and PB flow.

thank you for the response. The valves I'm using are a Brand Hydraulics LV series loader valve, a Chief Hydraulics single spool valve, and a Rexroth D03 solenoid valve (running in that order from the PB). All the valves have the appropriate PB cartridge installed (with the exception of the solenoid valve, I was told that they provide full pressure without the use of PB). I'm at work now but will provide more details this afternoon when I return home. I fear that I have a deadend somewhere and the only way flow is being passes is by the pressure reliefs in the valves. The 3ph is plumbed internally so there is no way for me to have messed with it.

I'm probably going to run a process of elimination test this evening. I'll remove the external valves from the equation and run a pressure test at the remotes until I determine which valve is causing me the issue. This is all a new setup. The tractor has less than 1 hour of run time since it's rebuild (motor and all) so I figure I had some bugs to workout. I'm just hoping that due to my current setup, I haven't stressed the pump to a point of replacement ($300.....)

Please clarify the following for me....

1. The brand loader valve:
......This is the first in the series, getting pressure direct from pump correct? Hooked to P port on valve?
......4 Hoses go to the loader operation correct?
......PB cartridge installed, and hose from that location goes to the chief single spool valve correct?
......Tank port of this valve returns back to tractor sump correct?

2. Chief single spool.......What does this control?
......It gets pressure in from the brand LV right?
.....The PB out of this valve goes on to feed the D003 plate/rexroth valve right?
.....Tank line also returns to sump on tractor (can be tee'd in with the tank line from the loader valve)

3. Rexroth valve.....what does this control?
....Pressure is supplied TO it from the PB of the chief correct?
....Its tank line and PB are one in the same.....and need to feed the 3PH correct?
.....Shouldnt have a second line returning to tank?

You mention that the 3PH only works when the loader valve is actuating the loader correct?
What about the chief and rexroth valves? Do they work as intended.

I am trying to figure out what you are trying to accomplish with both a chief single spool AND rexroth plumbed in series?
