On 600 series what speed is the PTO turning when the engine is at 1000 rpm? This is 4-speed trans, non-live, gas motor. Ford 2000 with 4-cyl gas motor would also be the same, is that right?

I can't tell you exactly but most older Ford tractors are at 540 pto speed around 80% throttle or about 1750 rpms on an engine governed at 2200 rpms.
Extrapolating from that, 1000 rpm would give you a pto speed of about 325 rpm.
These are rough numbers of course.
Yes, a 4 cyl 2000 with a 4 speed would be the same as they are almost identical tractors.
Any of the 4 and 5 speeds - with or w/o lpto would likely be about the same.

I think UD is pretty much spot on. looking at a pic of a proofmeter on one of my 5 speeds.. it does look darn close to 1750 for pto speed. which may sometimes be listed as 538 even. for the 540 'standard'

I agree. We called 1800 RPM 540 PTO RPM for years.

Thank you all. I had a feeling it was around 1750 for 540pto but wanted to double check. I will be moving a sprayer I previously used on the Fords to a different tractor and wanted to choose a gear that would give about the same pto speed at 3 mph.
