Hello folks
I need help identifying the 4 bolt cover plate on the bottom of this transmission.
There is a hole in the center of the of the 4 bolt plate...what you see hanging out of the hole is a piece of metal and not a plastic tube that is appears to be. I discovered this while i was changing engine oil. When i parked the tractor and went underneath to drain the oil i notice the leaking of transmission fluid but it stopped shortly after the shutting off the engine
Your input would be greatly appreciated/

Pouring out now, will have a look later this afternoon and grab a pic of what our 641 looks like in that area - but I can tell you I sure don't remember anything looking like that!

Would you be accessing the bellhousing area if this plate is removed, also the clutch? Is the tube simply a drain for that compartment?

Actually in the bellhousing. Leaking from rear main engine or from input shaft seal. Cotter pin keep the hole from clogging up. Dap a little fluid on your finger. Does it smell like engine oil or gear/hydraulic oil. Or you can watch the fluid levels on your engine oil and tranny and see which one goes lower.. A tractor split might be required to fix.

Finally stopped raining long enough to peel the tarp off and run the old girl up and down the road a bit. Here's my pics from today, same as yours, 'cept no oil leaking.

Click on the pic to make bigger.
