Price Check Ford 641 Diesel Price

Stopped in at a house looking for some antiques and got to talking and the guy said he had a tractor he would think about selling. It's Ford 601 Workmaster 641 D.

Overall the tractor is in very good shape body wise. Re-painted at some point, paint is still good. No rust anywhere. I would give the body a solid B+. Tires are brand new, 99% tread just put on this year, no weather cracking.

I hopped on her and she fired right up, very little smoke. I drove around for about 20 min, breaks are very good, clutch is fine, transmission solid, PTO and 3PH all in perfect working order. After I ran it I checked for leaks in all the trouble spots that I know of and could find nothing. I then fired it up again and ran it some more. Still no issues in terms of starting, smoke or leaks. Overall, from what I could tell, this was a solid tractor.

Asking price was $3000. Based on what I could read of the serial number it was either a 1959 or 60. You think $3000 is a fair price with no implements? I don't really need the thing but I have a hard time passing up a good deal on a tractor. Any info greatly appreciated.

could buy it plus implements in my area. 00/01 diesel or gass ar in the solid 2xxx range. I just passed on one like that, with power steering, for 2500$, AND had new paint.. not that that matters to me.. still.. regionally.. your prices may be higher.. so it's not a ripoff by any means.

the 144ci diesel, as I understand it is a bit harder ($$$) to get parts for (engine).. but otherwise the chassie is a good tried and true machine.

bout' the only issues I hear of them having are leaky seals in the pump letting fuel into the oil.. or line running thru the top end leaking fuel back instead of returning it to the tank. if it's oil ain't diesel laden and didn't look fresh changed.. it's likely not an issue to worry about.

go for it if ya fancy it.

should be more economical than a gasser 134..
