EquipmentJunkie said:AVCO was the parent company of New Idea back in the '70s, if I am not mistaken. I found some data in an old 1974 Implement & Tractor Red Book that AVCO New Idea marketed a model 452 rotary cutter. Maybe somebody can provide insight to any Woods / AVCO ties.
Henry Synck and Joseph Oppenhiem started New Idea. They built the first commercially successful manure spreader. Their heirs sold New Idea to Textron, who sold to Allied Corp (Where it became AVCO New Idea) who was also White-New Idea. They sold to AGCO, who currently owns the New Idea name. I don't believe Woods has any direct association with any of those brands.
