Hi all-
I have a friend that has a Ford 768 loader mounted on a JD 650 tractor. It's not pretty but it works, or did. The lift cylinders are leaking rather badly, and the rods appeared to be pitted. I told him I would try to find out where to either get new (to him) cylinders or if it is possible to repair what he has. He said he had the cylinders rebuilt once but that the shop didn't do anything about the pitted rods, so the leak came back very quickly. He's 87 and doesn't do computers, so I'm trying to help him out.

Anyone have the specs for the cylinders, or know where I might find some at a reasonable price? Is it possible to repair a pitted rod? He was talking about using liquid steel on them, but I have my doubts how well that might work.

Thanks for reading.
Rick

Never mind. He took them to a shop, and got new rods made and the cylinders rebuilt.
