55' Ford 800
Hello folks,

I have been working on getting my 55' Ford 800 flushed out and back into tip top shape before winter.

Still having some overheating going on and wanting to see if anyone knows how the circuit flows through the block?

Especially at the drain petcock on the starter side of the block. I first found that it was full of gunk and I am able now to run a piece of two foot weedeater string in and towards the rear of the block. My question, is this port a flow through type, or is where the petcock is located a deadheaded branch off the main circuit?

I tried to rod the hole out towards the front of the block but cant seem to find a hole? I just want to be sure that if coolant is supposed to flow through that port, that I get it cleaned out. If that makes any sense???

Basically, is it this way?

--->>>>------COOLANT FLOW FROM REAR OF BLOCK------->>>>[[[[PETCOCK]]]]>>>>-----COOLANT FLOW TO FRONT OF BLOCK----->>>>

OR This way?

--->>>>------COOLANT FLOW FROM REAR OF BLOCK------->>>>[[[[PETCOCK]]]||| DEAD HEADED

Look at your water pump... Water travel path will be evident.
