saw one listed as 5x1 tranny. I haven't gone to see it. Don't know what that means.
Five foreward gears, one reverse gear.
Still doesn't tell you enough. The middle digit is what tells you what those 100 series Fords have for options.
821 - means it might not have a 3pt or pto on it at all - many were added latter tho.
841 - would mean it has the 4 speed tranny.
851 - would be th five speed tranny.
861 - would be the 5 speed tranny with live pto - perhaps the best setup.
871 - would be the SoS tranny, great when it works, but spendy & hard to find parts to fix.
881 - would be SoS tranny with I think the 2 speed pto.
I don't know why no noe says the true number of their Ford tractors. Never was a plain 800, 600, etc made, They all had a middle number.
