Ford XX0 hundred series built between 1955 and 1957
8XX indicates a 172ci gas 4cyl engine kicking out an impressive 45-48 or so pto hp, depending on the carb,manifold, and who you ask. ( original carb and setup should be 45.. etc.. )
X2X, stripped down economy version with 4spd trans, NO pto, and NO hydraulic lift.
Note that the tractor could have been ordered as an 820 and then later re-equipped via the dealer.. or re-equipped by a farmer with a frined with a ford 8XX with a blown engine.. etc. Also possible, since the model ID is stamped on the tranny, that the tranny has been swapped around.. etc.

As well, these are the most mis-identified tractors I have ever seen - folks get all confused for some reason. Be sure it isn't an 8n or a 4000 or something else...

Check the flat on the trans bellhousing aft of the starter for sn on the hundred/thousand series.
on an N series it will be stamped ont he left side of the block, aft of the oil canister, above the starter, just under the head..
On a early NAA, it will be on the left front side of the engine, on the later NAA, it will be on an angular bevel, ont he trans bellhousing, aft of the starter..
trans from many of the hundred seres get swapped around... but.. usually.. the trans and center section are the defining features of the model.. except that 134 and 172 ( and 144d) engine will all fit the same bellhousings.. and the 8xx had a HD rear end vs the 6xx
