Ford 851 lift problems

Hey I need some help here!!!
I just finished tilling the garden and as I went to lift the tiller there was no response!!! Nothing at all... I checked the fluid and it looks good.
Did something break? I never heard anything. Last year I replaced the little lift pin that is inside the casing, which made it work better, now this, oooh man just another thing to fix!!! HELP ME PLEASE

Hard to say...you say the fluid looks good, but is the level proper? Did you lose prime on the pump? There is a hex headed recessed cap on the top of the pump (piston style). You can loosen that and bleed the pump while running or take it off with the tractor off and pour a little UTF in there and see if you can get the prime going.

If that does not work, the lift cover may need to come off. But, you need a manual first. I&T FO-20 is what you need. There are diagnostic steps in that manual that help lead you down the right path.

deffinately see if you are pumping oil. pull the plug on the 3x5 cover under the seat.

if making oil. time to pull cover and see if unloader valve is stuck

I took it in for service to find out why it wouldn't lift. Come to find out the fluid was just dirty, and there was some water in it. no more outside parking for this one.

ahh.. I thought you had said you checke dthe fluid and it was good?

Well I did check it, but the service guy said it was dirty. It had only been in there about 9 months, but nevertheless it works now, I'm ready for spring now. Can't hardly wait, I can see the corn now yea hooooooo!
