Ford 861 Powermast govenor compensating spring

I have looked at the schematic showing the govenor compensating spring (#20) but cannot find where the 2nd end connects. There is a hole in the bell-crank for one end but I read the other end hooks under battery box. I do not see this on my 861 and it is original or was until the spring broke and got lost.

I looked at my 850 last night, there is a small tab on the bottom of the battery tray for the spring to attach to.

exactly. and many times the tab brakes off so you just have to get the spring in the cutout where the tab was. if a hair too long then, just bend the hook or wire a couple coils together with a twist tie.
