So I am getting ready to order new blades for the Ford 917 (22-184)
Flail Master has two style I am interested in. See picture, the ones with red arrows.
I will be mowing a flat (10 acres) and maintained field. No rocks, or other debris. Probably mow at about 3 inches and it will be kept mowed.
The blade on the left in the picture is $5.50 (need 33) and the one on the right is $1.75 (need 66)

Which blade would you guys go with? Is there really enough difference to justify a $2.00 per station difference?

Having used both, and as I mentioned before, the 2 piece blade will leave a rippled effect across the field. It may not be that noticeable at the 3" height. IF that is not an issue, I would go with the 2 piece blades, easier to sharpen, double sided blades and cheaper.

The problem that you will have mowing at a three inch height is being able to create enough of a pressure gradient/suction to lift the grass and brush up and slice it and not using the side slicers for mowing will not let you recut the material to a finer clipping and allowing it to dissolve sooner.
