i dont know if i am on the right topic for this but i am gonna ask anyway. and if i am on the wrong one if someone would or could direct me that would be great. ok so i have a 1980 ish ford a 62 loader and i believe it has a 256 ford diesel 4cy turbo, i think. now the guy i purchased this from had his fingers in it and it is currently has head gasket out and i believe that the head needs to be sent in and decked. it is also missing some parts like turbo and starter and is half tore apart. So i was thinking that trying to nurse this engine back to life was just going to find a alternative re-power. and so i have been looking at a 12 valve and i thought this would be a good thing for it because these machines with the 4cy were under powered from factory and another reason was just for ease because i thought that finding bell housing adapter for this would be easier. now my other partial question would be if anyone knows this at all or any help it is a allison tt2221 tranny and number on the ford tag says 6d14 now i haven't been able to find much info on this. i guess what im asking for help with is anyone have any idea what like the bolt pattern on tranny could be and what do u do with flywheel? if you have any other common motor that would be a good swap perferibly a 6cy or any advice on what to do i am just so undecided on what to do. any help is much appreciated.
