Ford bush hog 22-50 and 22-177 use the same gearbox?

Anyone know if the bolt pattern on Ford bush hog model 22-50 will fit model 22-177? I have a 22-177 that has the deck completely eaten away by rust, and a guy with a 22-50 for sale that has a blown gearbox but good deck. If it helps, my 22-177 also seems known as a model 908, not sure what the equivalent number is for the 22-50. If my gearbox will fit on his deck, I'm tempted to buy it.

I don't know off hand and the books don't show a 22-50 number. It shows your 22-177 and two different shafts were offered. 12 Spline and 24 Spline for the output shaft. Unless somebody happens to have one handy where you could get some measurements you might have to look at it if its not to far away.

The same gear box as on your 22-177 will fit several models but the 22-50 is not on that list.
