Ford county super six for sale

Love those things. If it were me, I'd be passing the wife on the road with the County on a trailer behind me! Is that the actual tractor - in that condition?

it's rough but the running gear is all there... may have to hide it at the shop????

I've been enamoured with the County line since I first learned of them. Of course, it probably helped that I was raised on Fords.

In the early 70's, my dad and uncle had the opportunity to go to Georgia(?) to test out a bunch of different Ford tractors (expenses paid by local dealer how could they say "no"). Although I don't recall if he said which model County it was, he did get some good seat time on one doing tillage work. All he said about it was that it was an absolute beast, but the turning radius was huge.

I am curious about the "County" line.

As I understand it, they are from the UK. How did they make it to North America? Was there a dealer network?

The main components were Ford tractor based, so I recall them being offered thru local Ford dealers. Never saw an actual tractor on the lot, just the literature.

I was surprised to find out County made conversions of early TW series machines as I don't remember Ford dealers having info on any models except the Super 4 and Super 6. Maybe that was around the time NH got involved?

Most of the references I have seen here to County tractors have been by folks from the Northeast and Canada. I don't remember ever seeing one in the Southeast. I was curious as to whether the distribution was limited to those areas.
