Ford N/H 1715 stuck in gear HELP!!!

I have a 1994 Ford 1715 and it keeps getting stuck in gears. I have to take the trans plate off and use a screw driver to push the gears one way or the other to get them unstuck. The spring and ball seem to be fine I have no Idea why its sticking like it is. Please HELP!!! Getting tired of have to stop and remove twenty bolts everytime i use the tractor lol

And by the way the shifter does have a lot of slack in it, in all gears and in nutral. Just wondering if that might have something to do with it. And if so is there an easy fix to geting the slack out.

I have a 1210 and a 1700, each with over 2000 hrs, and the problem occurs about once every couple of years. Does your tractor have a lot of hours on it --3000 or more? If the sloppiness is all in the ball, you should be able to have it beefed up, or a new one made in a machine shop. Try a tractor salvage yard. If they have a transmission that is shot, they should be willing to sell the shifter. If the boxes that the ball sets in are worn, there is a tear-down in your future.

No My tractor only has 740hrs on it so I really dont know if thats the problem or not? it will go a while some times and then sometimes it will happen once a day its really strange

As I have stated in other post, my 2110 locks in range 4. Has done since I bought in 1998. I don't use range four. Lock up sounds like a common problem in 1310s to 2110s and in the XX15s also. Have many similar post. Wish some one had a simple cure.

Ford 1715 Stuck in gear

I have a 1995 Ford 1715 which has become stuck in gear. Hi-Low range but it wont come out of 2nd gear. I took plate off and can see the gears which appear to be OK. No obvious signs of damage or cause for the lock up. Does anyone have any suggestions to get it unstuck other than to call...
