Is your tractor before or after they went to electronic engine cut off. 98 and 99 were electronic for sure. Turn key to off position and tractor shuts down.

It almost sounds like something in the fuel pump. We have a 5030 and it gave trouble starting after it ran awhile. We started using fuel additive like Sea Foam and an ounce of oil per gallon. It hasn't given trouble since. At work the TS 100 engine RPM flutters for awhile when it's cold. They are trying to lean them out so much for emissions I think that might be the problem.

It is shuting the power off to the fuel solnoid only when cranking, when you let off the key the fuel selnoid get power back
