Hi guys. I have an old Ford 3000 I use to cut the grass in my back field. It has a flat front tire from dry rot. How much should I expect to pay for two front replacement tires?It's a 2WD. Thanks for your help.

$142.00 for pair of 6.0-16 3 ribs on ebay right now. Probably $95 each at TSC or tire place. Dont forget $10/15 per for tube and $10 per for mounting.

Edit: I reread your earlier post and I still stand by my earlier suggestion of taking it to several independent car tire guys and asking for a used truck tire of similar width/height. If you can, probably wont be out more than $40 total

I hate to sound like a safety guy, but remember the front axle isnt solid like a car, so jack and block from near the tire on the axle, NOT the center front of the tractor,

$40? Really. Wow! Thx so much for the info. I'm definitely gonna try that. I'm not at home now, but do u know what size front tires are on a ford 3000 typically?

Oh ok I just saw your earlier post about eBay and tire size.

Factory should be 5.50-16, but thats are rare size now. 6.00-16 are a total of 1" taller, and 0.5" wider, and work fine as well. In a truck or trailer tire, 205/75r16 or 205/75d16 also fit. If you go to a tire shop (not a major chain or retail store that does tires) bring your tire and rim with you and ask them for a used tire of roughly the same size. Yours should be ~27" tall, and pretty much anything that fits on your rim from 26" to 29" tall should work fine. More plys are better or a higher load code (c is better than b, d is better than c, ect). If you can find load-D 205/75r16 trailer tires used, in fair shape, or anything close (must be 16") you'll be back in business.

Thank u so much. A friend of mine knows someone who sells used tires so I'm gonna go that route first. I'll let u know what I find.

Check with your local Farmer's Co-Op, or local tire dealers. Those tires are not terribly expensive. You should be able to have a new set mounted, tubes included, for around $200.
Paul is correct, you'll need to ask for the 6.00-16 size. The smaller tire is obsolete.
