I have been looking for a used grapple for about a year to put on my John Deere 4600. I wanted to spend less than than 2,000. I found a used WR LONG 66" RBG grapple for sale on craigslist for 1,800 on Long Island. I offered to pay 1,600 and pick up at ferry dock at the eastern end of Long Island. I picked it up yesterday. I was trying to explain what a grapple was to my wife.
I showed her the pictures on craigslist and WR Long site. She wasn't really buying it. We watching TV the other night and the Ford commercial comes on with a Red Ford F-150 with a grapple in the bed after a repair job. She said that's you with the grapple and truck. She understood . Thanks Ford. My spring project this year will to finish the grapple setup with Long Diverter valve and skid steer adapter .

Yea. Been looking for grapple also. I saw that commercial too. Bet it made you feel right at home.

One of the great joys of my life is that ever since we bought our country property, I have been loading my pickup with stuff that is even bigger & more impressive than what they show in the commercials.

It must mean I am doing something right...

Thank for the encouragement. The education and knowledge here is priceless. I guess I spent too much time looking at grapples here. The grapple I bought did not have a brand name in the add. I was able to identify it by the teeth and white WR Long label on the side. Slippy, I used google to find the grapple. I typed "root grapple & craigslist" in the google box and did a search. It would list all grapples in the country on craigslist. It is a lot quicker than going to each city list. I probably would have missed this one in NY without the search feature. Dave , I am also having a lot fun with my second piece of property. My Father had owned the land before me. He had bought it from his grandfather. Been in the family since 1916. The land is wooded , was open field 60 years ago. The grapple seems to be a safer way to handle trees and stone that I plan on moving. The land needs quite a bit of work . My roots are deep in it , so it fun and rewarding.
