Looks like ford is having a rough time right now and are going to loose up to 9 billion bucks this year. Truck sales are really off.

and this is news because???????? sorry- I just couldn't resist. Looks like maybe there is a sale pending? Seems strange to me that we are not hearing any complaints from the unions this time around. It certainly is sad that things have gotten to this point, but it is good to see Ford management acting. I heard today that they are cutting production by 21% in the fourth quarter. Ouch! add to that the fact that the more profitable trucks and suv's are the ones that are not selling.

Yep, Ford's losing money, closing plants, etc., but they've hired a new boss man from Boeing who is supposed to turn everything around, and they're only paying him a little over 18 million the first year.

The figures are staggering. You hear figures like that and you wonder why they're not already out of business. Same with the airlines. Didn't a billion dollars used to be a lot of money?

Might be a good time to buy some stock at a bargain price. Everyone I've spoken with that has one of those 6 liter PowerStroke trucks is unhappy with it. The local Ford dealer here has them stacked all over the lot. They are just not selling. All the retired Ford guys I talk to put the blame on Jack Nasser. They tell me that he spent tons of money on buying up all those brands now under the Ford corporate umbrella. Who knows, I hate to see them go belly up.

My neighbor gave up on his 6 liter after bringing it in for repairs the 5th time. It left them stranded on two occasions. He traded it for a Dodge Cummins.

If there was ever a good time to buy stock in Ford, now is the time. I have been contemplating it as we give Ford enough money when we buy a new vehicle.

most people look to buy stock in companies on the way up

Buying any stock is a gamble, with Ford you have to believe that they will rebound and you know the White House will help bail them out if things get too bad. It may take one year or five years but they will rebound.
