I have a next door neighbor who has absolutely abused the snot out of his 4X2 Gator for many years. It should be a true testament to the durability of them! In 5 years, I doubt that it has seen an ounce of maintenance and has most certainly been "ridden hard and put to bed wet"! I've never in my life seen a vehicle treated so poorly and abused so much. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Based upon his experiences, and only complaint I've heard about it from him, I would think the only problem with using the 4X2 Gator (unless they have changed) would be the lack of power. The little 10 hp engine in my neighbor's 4X2 Gator has likely been one reason he and his kids have not completely destroyed the thing. Compared to most all of the new offerings, the old 4X2 with the 10 hp engine is very limited on power. In his situation, it likely has saved his life and his Gator's life, but for forestry applications I think it could be a problem.
